Electronic marketing
What is electronic marketing?
Electronic marketing is a form of marketing that takes place on the internet.
This includes an expansive range of services including websites, bulk mailing, search engine optimisation, blogs and more. An entire advertising campaign may be created without making use of paper - unless you really feel the need.

DEFINITION: Astroturfing is the artificial creation of a grassroots buzz for a product, service or political viewpoint. Commercially-motivated astroturfing is called "astroturf marketing." Astroturf marketing has a negative connotation, primarily because disreputable marketers have used deceptive tactics to build their buzz by taking advantage of the anonymity the Internet provides. Why electronic marketing?
Many years ago, a computer was not a standard household piece of equipment, and certainly not 1 for almost every family member. Now it is not unknown for a family to have 3 computers. Children use them for homework, we all use them for research and lots use them simply for fun.
Almost everyone has an email address, recognises the name Google, and is registered to some community network. What would life be like if you could not send a gift to a friend on face book?
All of this has enhanced the ability for you to reach your target market electronically.
Electronic marketing is also a very cost effective mechanism compared to many other marketing options. Sending an electronic email is more than 50% cheaper than printing out a pamphlet and handing them out. Your reach is also far wider. It can be as far as the international markets if that be your intention. There is a reason why the internet is called the World Wide Web.
It is quick. How many people can design and put together an invitation with the option to have an immediate online response within 48 hours.
So, why not make use of this easy and cost effective way of marketing your business? It's almost impossible not to!
Electronic Banking
For many consumers, electronic banking means 24-hour access to cash through an automated teller machine (ATM) or Direct Deposit of paychecks into checking or savings accounts. But electronic banking now involves many different types of transactions.
Electronic banking, also known as electronic fund transfer (EFT), uses computer and electronic technology as a substitute for checks and other paper transactions. EFTs are initiated through devices like cards or codes that let you, or those you authorize, access your account. Many financial institutions use ATM or debit cards and Personal Identification Numbers (PINs) for this purpose. Some use other forms of debit cards such as those that require, at the most, your
signature or a scan. The federal Electronic Fund Transfer Act (EFT Act) covers some electronic consumer transactions.
E-mail marketing
is a form of direct marketing which uses electronic mail as a means of communicating commercial or fundraising messages to an audience. In its broadest sense, every e-mail sent to a potential or current customer could be considered e-mail marketing. However, the term is usually used to refer to:
* sending e-mails with the purpose of enhancing the relationship of a merchant with its current or previous customers and to encourage customer loyalty and repeat business,
* sending e-mails with the purpose of acquiring new customers or convincing current customers to purchase something immediately,
* adding advertisements to e-mails sent by other companies to their customers, and
* sending e-mails over the Internet, as e-mail did and does exist outside the Internet (e.g., network e-mail and FIDO).
